Biography: The big-voiced Faith Evans has made a name for herself as the go-to R&B voice for hip hop hooks and collaborations. The glamorous Evans is capable of belting out a chorus or lowering her voice to a breathy purr, as the situation demands. Faith escaped a troubled childhood-her father walked out on her 18 year old mother, and she moved from Florida to New Jersey to live with family. Her grandmother was a devout Christian and Faith discovered her talent for singing in the church choir.
