Biography: The firebrand pop-star Alecia Moore, known to fans by her stage name Pink, was born in Pennsylvania in 1979. She was a rock music fan from an early age, and her father encouraged her by performing on guitar. In high school, Pink joined her first rock band but, like many high school bands, its primary function was helping young Alecia work on her chops. She liked how it felt up on stage and joined a slick Atlanta R&B trio named Face. They were good enough to score an audition with famed impresario L.A. Reid.
