Stewart, who had always been musically inclined, started out floating around London's swinging mod scene in the 1960's. He had cool hair and a natural inclination for folksy blues and he would often busk subways and street corners for drinking money. While engaged in just that he was recruited into a local garage band, The Hoochie Coochie Men. The scene was loose, and he eventually found himself playing in straight-up rock band The Faces with guitar god Jeff Beck. In 1969, Rod Stewart released his first solo effort, An Old Raincoat .....
